OASYS – Optoelectronic Sensors for Application-Oriented Systems
Project duration: 01.09.2023 – 31.08.2028
The digital transformation of industry, healthcare, and agriculture requires high-performance sensor systems capable of capturing information precisely, contactlessly, and in real time. This is exactly where the OASYS research project comes in.
Within the project, researchers and industry partners are jointly developing innovative optoelectronic sensor solutions that combine state-of-the-art sensing technologies, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials. The goal is to rapidly transfer new technologies into practical applications, thereby strengthening the innovative capacity of the Lusatia region and Germany as a whole.
Research with a Strong Application Focus
Photonic and optoelectronic sensors are among the key technologies of the future. They enable highly precise, non-contact measurement techniques and provide the foundation for intelligent systems in manufacturing, healthcare, and robotics.
OASYS therefore follows a consistent technology transfer approach: new scientific findings are developed, tested, and translated into practical applications in close collaboration with regional and national industry partners. In particular, cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) creates opportunities for innovative solutions while supporting the economic development of the Lusatia structural transformation region.
In the long term, the project will contribute to the development of new technologies, the creation of highly qualified jobs, and new opportunities for high-tech start-ups.
