Fraunhofer IPMS coordinates the areas of quantum computing, quantum informatics, and quantum sensor technology within the project. Working closely with Fraunhofer IWU, Fraunhofer IPMS will primarily coordinate links to the microelectronics and semiconductor industry and positioning for major European quantum technology projects, such as pilot lines in the European Chips Act. In recent years, Fraunhofer IPMS has launched numerous regional, national, and European research projects that focus primarily on future scalable approaches in the field of quantum computing.
HZSG is responsible for overall coordination. The quantum materials pillar is coordinated by IFW Dresden.
Collaboration in the network
The network is open to additional partners from science and industry. Collaboration takes place through joint research and development projects, workshops, seminars, industry days, pilot and demonstration projects, and programs for young talent and continuing education. Research results are published regularly and disseminated in line with open science approaches.
Promotion of young talent and training
SAX-QT offers programs for training highly qualified specialists, including scholarships, trainee programs, internships, joint courses, and industry-related training modules. The aim is to build a long-term pipeline of well-trained workers for Saxony.
