Hands-On Technology Workshop | Li-Fi Wireless Data Transmission with Light

Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS, 01109 Dresden, Maria-Reiche-Str. 2

Date:
-09/29/2020

How can we replace cable connections with optical interfaces and still transfer high rates of data? How can we expand local business networks with wireless communication and sustain a trouble-free and secure solution? These and other questions will be discussed in an Hands-On workshop.

The workshop will focus on Li-Fi (light fidelity) technology developed by Fraunhofer IPMS. This new technology allows the wireless transfer of data through light.

Find out which distances, data rates and connection configurations are possible with Li-Fi by using our demos.

In the introduction, Dr. Alexander Noack, Group Leader at Fraunhofer IPMS will explain the functionality of the technology. We give you the opportunity to try out and configure the new technology yourself and to carry out various tests. In conclusion, we will discuss the technology's future perspectives and application scenarios.

Overall, the workshop will provide you a unique insight into state-of-the-art technology as well as Li-Fi operation, a chance to sample the Li-Fi technology, and examples of practical applications. The workshop is geared toward industry representatives who either wish to gain an overview of the state-of-the-art technology or have specific application needs.

Registration fee: 490 EUR (excluding VAT)

The participation fee includes food and drinks during the workshop. Participant capacity is limited to 15. Please register via our registration form no later than three days prior to your preferred event date.
