The QBN workshop at Fraunhofer IPMS brings together research and industry from across the quantum ecosystem to discuss how quantum chips can be scaled to support new technologies and applications.

The exchange focuses on key aspects such as

• manufacturing processes,
• foundry approaches,
• scaling strategies,
• testing methods, and
• the interactions between these elements along the value chain.

What to expect?

Participants will gain insights into current developments and open questions regarding the industrialization of quantum chips, including the role of advanced microelectronics infrastructure and the integration of quantum-specific requirements. Particular emphasis is placed on how scalable production and reliable testing can facilitate the transition from laboratory prototypes to deployable quantum systems.

Leveraging synergies between established semiconductor manufacturing and quantum chips

The event also aims to highlight synergies with the regional microelectronics ecosystem and foster connections between quantum technology and established semiconductor expertise. It addresses how existing capabilities can accelerate the development of scalable quantum hardware.
