Li-Fi (Light Fidelity) is an innovative wireless communication technology that transmits data using light. The concept is straightforward: a modulator rapidly switches a light-emitting diode (LED) or laser diode on and off at speeds imperceptible to the human eye. A photodetector detects these light pulses and converts them into electrical signals. This method requires a direct line of sight between transmitter and receiver to function effectively. The Fraunhofer IPMS Li-Fi solutions are outperforming Wi-Fi and 5G for latency, reliability and for some solutions also for data rates.
