IP Cores Licensing Models

With over two decades of experience, Fraunhofer IPMS IP Cores are used by more than 200 licensees worldwide. We offer three proven standard licensing models, each tailored to different requirements.

Prototype or Evaluation license

The IP core can be implemented on an IC device (FPGA, SoC, ASIC) for a prototyping. The scope of use is limited to a one design and one IC device and is limited in duration. In addition, the number of prototypes produced can be limited. Payment for the license is made in a one-time payment. The delivery is in Encrypted Source Code.

 

Product license

The IP core can be implemented for a product on an IC device (FPGA, SoC, ASIC). The usage is limited to one design and IC device, as well as limited in time. Payment for the license is made once or in combination with royalties and an upfront payment.

 

R&D license

The IP core can be implemented on an IC device (FPGA, SoC, ASIC) for a prototype. The usage is usually limited to one or more publicly funded R&D projects, as well as limited in duration. The payment for the license is one-time.
