Data transmission of the future: Fraunhofer IPMS to present Li-Fi technology at OFC 2016

Press Release /

Cables? Susceptible and impractical! Radio? Unreliable and inefficient! As the industry continues to connect more and more processes, researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) are working to find new ways of quickly and securely transmitting large amounts of data. Optical, wireless and 100 times faster than current WLANs, Li-Fi has emerged as the transmission technology of the future. At the 2016 OFC (Optical Fiber Communication) Conference and Exhibition, the Dresden-based Fraunhofer IPMS will present the latest developments in this area to an audience of professionals.
