Lifetronics stands for the linking of the fields of life sciences and microelectronics or micro system technology. The objective of this line of business is the development of innovative approaches towards an increase in life quality, e. g. systems for measuring and monitoring vital bodily functions such as heart and brain activity, pulse, temperature, blood pressure, breathing, along with a stimulation with electronic impulses (electrotherapy, electric acupuncture, muscle training, neurostimulation). These systems are more and more used in modern medicine, in environmental protection, in nursing as well as sports, leisure, fitness and wellness.

We are a member of the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) alliance.

The focus is on multifunctional solutions, which by miniaturization, ease of operations and radio transmission are suitable for everyday use. The basis for this is transponder technology, which transmits data and energy wirelessly. This technology presents an excellent platform for, amongst other things, »intelligent implants«. The Fraunhofer IPMS offers an evaluation kit for the development of transponder solutions. The Fraunhofer IPMS sensor and data transmission technology allows stationary devices to be brought away from the sick bed immediately to the human body. Cumbersome cables are replaced by wireless communication. The measurement results are available at all times via telephone and internet to the doctor or the trainer on demand. Examples of Lifetronics product ideas are a mobile sleep diagnostic system as well as a Body Area Network with ECG and continuous blood pressure calculation with transtelephonic data transmission.
